The camp we like hiking in the summer here on the East Coast 4-6 Months yearly. As an expert camper, we prefer our own mix of snacks do to take away.
All these recipes are easy to make. When you go camping, you save the snack mix in plastic containers. If you are going hiking, you can mix in a plastic bag, zip close. We want to make sure to keep out moisture.
Mountain TrailMixture
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1 cup raisins
1 cup salted peanuts
1 cup pretzel sticks
1 cup plain M & M's candies, chocolate covered
1 cup Oyster crackers
1 cup sunflower seeds
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients in the order they appear above. Store mixture in airtight container. This recipe is a seven cup servings.
HOT nut mix
4 cups of roasted peanuts salted
03:01 cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoonsgrated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine barbecue sauce and nuts, stir until coated. Spread mixture on an ungreased baking sheet. Sprinkle with Parmesan. Cook to 300 degrees Bake 20-25 minutes or until nuts are dry. Place on baking paper to cool. After cooling, store in an airtight container.
Savory Pretzels
2 bags of broken pretzels
1 / 2 pound of butter, soft
04:01 Cup Worcestershire sauce
1 envelope onion soupMixture
Butter in microwave. In a mixing bowl, stir, add broth and Worcestershire sauce. Pour mixture over crackers and mix well. Cover and let stand until all liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally to coat mixture. Place pretzel pieces in a hot oven 250 degrees for January 1-1 / 2 hours. The longer you cook the crunchy pretzel will. After cooling, store in an airtight container.
